ASSAM AND MEGHALAYA HIGHLIGHTS

The history of Assam tea goes back to almost two centuries ago. Tucked away in the northeastern corner of India, discover Assam's tea history and current way of life; try your hand at plucking tea leaves; and witness the entire process of manufacturing from Weathering to Crushing, Tearing and Curling in the CTC machines to drying and packaging.

Immerse yourself in the culture of the neighbouring state of Meghalaya. The home of many ethnic communities – such as the Khasis (of Mon-Khmer ancestry), the Garos (of Tibeto-Burman origin) and the Jaintias – learn more about their unique customs and cultures, including their adherence to the matrilineal system. Take in the state's stunning natural beauty as you visit one of India's highest waterfalls; Asia's cleanest village; and the extraordinary living root bridges.
